WHY BIRD & WILD COFFEE?

The coffee is produced in the shade which means that it is grown in a natural environment and not in mass cultivated land areas. Therefore, there are no artificial fertilisers or insecticides used which means that there is no leaching of chemicals to pollute water courses.

Shade grown coffee provides a wide range of bio-diversity. Typically, 90 to 120 species of plants and 13 to 58 types of trees are on a single site.

The coffee sites act as a carbon sink helping to prevent global warming.

It helps to improve the bee and insect population.

It helps to prevent soil erosion and surface water run off reducing the risk of floods.

The coffee sites provide an excellent habitat for wild birds both native and migratory.

Because of the way the coffee is grown, it produces a high quality coffee with a great taste.
